Zhang Lü
Zhang Lü (b. 1962, Yanbian, China) is a Korean-Chinese filmmaker. Known for Grain in Ear (2005, Cannes ACID), Desert Dream (2007, Berlinale), Dooman River (2010), Love and… (2015), and Fukuoka (2020). His films often explore identity, displacement, and cultural hybridity.
Synopsis
Xiaobai, a dancer, receives a postcard from her boyfriend who disappeared three years earlier. She travels to Luomu, a remote town, to uncover the truth. The film explores memory, longing, and the passage of time, blending road-movie aesthetics with emotional drama.
