Radu Jude (b. 1977, Bucharest) is one of Romania’s most acclaimed contemporary filmmakers, known for his sharp satirical style and historical critiques. After studying film directing at the Media University of Bucharest and working as assistant director for Costa-Gavras and Cristi Puiu, he debuted with The Happiest Girl in the World (2009). His subsequent films include Aferim! (2015, Silver Bear Berlin), Scarred Hearts (2016), I Do Not Care If We Go Down in History as Barbarians (2018, Karlovy Vary winner), and Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn (2021, Golden Bear Berlin).
Orsolya is a bailiff in the city of Cluj, Transylvania. One day she has to evict a homeless man who lives in the basement of a building. An unexpected event creates a moral crisis she tries to solve as best as she can.
