Oliver Hermanus (b. 1983, Cape Town) is a South African director and writer. He studied at the University of Cape Town and London Film School. His debut Shirley Adams (2009) premiered at Locarno. Beauty (2011) won the Queer Palm at Cannes. Later films include The Endless River (2015), Moffie (2019), and Living (2022, BAFTA-nominated).
