The fourth day of IFFK 2025 promises a vibrant cinematic experience, with 74 films scheduled for screening across multiple theatres in the capital city on December 15, 2025. Featuring a rich mix of contemporary cinema, restored classics, and special events, the day offers something for every film enthusiast.
A major highlight of the day will be the prestigious Aravindan Memorial Lecture, to be held at Nila Theatre at 2:30 PM. The lecture will be delivered by internationally acclaimed Mauritanian filmmaker Abderrahmane Sissako, this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award winner, marking a significant moment in the festival’s intellectual and cultural discourse.
The Malayalam Cinema Today section brings to the screen some of the most awaited films of the season. Fazil Razak’s Moham (Desire), Adithya Baby’s Ambrosia, and cartoonist-turned-filmmaker Nipin Narayan’s Kaathirippu are expected to draw strong audiences, following the critical acclaim of the filmmakers’ earlier works.
In the Indian Cinema Now category, Anupurna Roy’s Songs of Forgotten Trees—winner of the Best Director Award in the Orizzonti section at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival—will be screened at Kairali Theatre at 3 PM, offering audiences an opportunity to engage with one of the most celebrated Indian films of the year.
The Kaleidoscope section continues to showcase globally recognised cinema, with screenings of Neeraj Ghaywan’s Homebound, Varsha Bharat’s NETPAC Award-winning debut Bad Girl, Vaghaichipani (Tiger’s Pond), and Kok Kok Kokoook, presented across various venues.
Adding to the day’s cinematic depth are restored and homage screenings of timeless classics such as Battleship Potemkin, Charlie Chaplin’s Gold Rush, Pyaasa, Bhumika, and Kutty Srank. The programme also includes special screenings of cult favourites Pulp Fiction and Jean-Luc Godard’s iconic Breathless.
With its expansive lineup spanning new voices, international award-winners, and cinematic landmarks, Day 4 of IFFK 2025 is set to generate packed theatres, lively discussions, and an unforgettable festival atmosphere.
