Synopsis

Set in a Chilean mining town in 1982, a mysterious disease spreads, and gay men are blamed. Amid fear and prejudice, a 12-year-old girl named Lidia seeks the truth, uncovering resilience and solidarity in the face of discrimination. Céspedes’ debut feature blends realism with allegory, portraying how communities respond to crisis and how prejudice can devastate lives. Through Lidia’s gaze, the film becomes a coming-of-age story about innocence confronting injustice. Rich in atmosphere and emotional depth, it explores themes of stigma, resilience, and the search for truth in a society marked by fear.
