The 18th edition of International Film Festival of Kerala on 6th December 2013 at Thiruvananthapuram the capital city of Kerala, India........
Fourteen films from across the globe compete for the Golden Crow Pheasant Award. Ranging from romance to bio pic to slice of life films, here is an array of some of the finest contemporary Malayalam cinema. Curated films with compelling storylines make up this section. Samrui films from Japan, Street films from Latin America, Indo german films and contemporary Asian films. Handpicked by June Givanni, here is an amalgam of earthy Nigerian films stretching from mytho to thriller to romcoms!
Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, a Kerala Government Institution to promote cinema conducts International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) every year. A competition section for the films from Asian and African and Latin American countries is the highlight of the festival. The Golden Crow Pheasant Award with a cash prize INR 15 lakhs (approximate 30,000 US dollars) for the best feature film to be shared equally between the director and the producer.
